# Analytics tab

Check player loads, product detail page conversion rate, and viewer engagement for each video. Commerce analytics need a Shop Player with a product banner.

## Understanding analytics <a href="#undefined" id="undefined"></a>

The analytics period has a basic period and a comparison period.

### Basic period

<figure><img src="https://1857767629-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fo7CC5HKFh1guYnGcyftj%2Fuploads%2FDOUVPoucmTc0l2kxCQzl%2Ftap_statistics-1-en.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* The basic period is the date range that analytics are calculated for.
* By default, it runs from the 1st of the current month to today.
  * <mark style="color:purple;">For example, if you check player load analytics on March 15, the basic period is set to March 1–March 15.</mark>
* Click the **\[Basic Period]** drop-down to change the date range.

### Add a comparison period

<figure><img src="https://1857767629-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fo7CC5HKFh1guYnGcyftj%2Fuploads%2FWG7T6HYAS2PPMe7leD97%2Ftap_statistics-2-en.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Click **\[Compare to]** next to the basic period to add a comparison period.
* When you add a comparison period, two graphs appear: one for the basic period and one for the comparison period.
* Each period has its own color.
* Hover over a point on the graph to see daily figures for both graphs.
* Below the graph, you can see the top videos for the period by player loads, banner conversion rate, and viewer engagement. With a comparison period added, select a date range from the drop-down above the table to see the rankings for the comparison period too.

### Graph

* See how your data changes across the selected period at a glance.
* Hover over a point on the graph to see daily figures.
* Below the graph, you can see the top videos for the period by player loads, banner conversion rate, and viewer engagement.

## Video and commerce analytics <a href="#undefined" id="undefined"></a>

### **Video: player loads**

Shows how many times the player loaded on a page. This is the total of loads from the Displayer and the Shop Player.

### **Commerce: product detail page conversion rate**

{% hint style="danger" %} <mark style="color:red;">**Make sure the Shop Player is active. You need to add a product banner.**</mark>\ <mark style="color:red;">**Available on the Standard plan and above.**</mark>
{% endhint %}

* Shows how many times viewers clicked a product banner in the Shop Player.
* It is calculated as: (\[Banner clicks] ÷ \[Total Shop Player loads]) × 100 = product detail page conversion rate (%).
* Besides the overall conversion rate for each video, you can see daily details: which product's banner was clicked, on which page, and how many times.

### **Commerce: viewer engagement**

{% hint style="danger" %} <mark style="color:red;">**Make sure the Shop Player is active. You need to add a product banner.**</mark>\ <mark style="color:red;">**Available on the Basic plan and above.**</mark>
{% endhint %}

* Shows how many times viewers clicked the Like and Share link buttons in the Shop Player (including mobile).
* Click a bar in the graph to see likes and shares separately in the daily details table.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://support.charlla.io/en/userguide/library/oepn_sidebar/tap_statistics.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
