# Overage load settings

Choose whether videos keep playing (Allow, overage charges apply) or stop (Block, no overage charges) once you use up your plan's included loads.

In Charlla, you choose what happens after you use up all the loads included in your subscription plan.

***

### Allow and Block explained

| Setting | Videos after the limit | Overage charges |
| --------- | ------------------------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| **Allow** | Keep playing as normal | Yes (billed on your next payment date) |
| **Block** | Replaced with a thumbnail image | No                                     |

{% hint style="info" %}
After you change the setting, it can take up to 5 minutes to take effect in the player on your online store.
{% endhint %}

***

### Default settings

* **Lite / Basic / Standard / Enterprise plans**: **\[Block]** by default
* **Promotion (free) plan**: **\[Allow]** by default (cannot be changed)

{% hint style="info" %}
Overage loads during the free trial are not charged. Make the most of your free trial at no extra cost!
{% endhint %}

### How to set it up

Go to **\[Profile menu at the top] > \[Payment] > \[Subscription Plan]** and use the toggle to allow or block overage loads.

When your loads reach **80%** or **100%**, a pop-up about overage load settings appears automatically the next time you open the console.

Only the **main account admin** can change this setting.

### If overage loads have already occurred

If overage loads have already occurred this month, **you cannot switch from \[Allow] to \[Block] right away**.

To switch to \[Block] from next month, use **Schedule deactivation**. You can cancel the scheduled change at any time within the current subscription period. On your next payment date, the scheduled \[Block] setting is applied automatically.

### What visitors see when the limit is reached with Block

With \[Block], once you use up all the included loads, visitors to your online store see the following instead of the video:

* **Standard players (Displayer / Shop Player / widgets)**: A thumbnail (poster) image appears instead of the video.
* **Thumbnail Player**: The video is hidden, and the product image behind it shows.

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLKEFnVmIYlmffzSBEtw1%2Fuploads%2FqAcbP9ucqCllhrrISTVR%2Fcharlla_NewPolicy.mp4?alt=media&token=634e6087-83a6-48b7-9ac5-f93cd3911f1a>" %}

Charlla counts usage in 1-hour intervals. If you go over the included loads within a counting interval, the overage that occurs within that interval is not charged.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://support.charlla.io/en/userguide/plan/overage-control.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
